Psalm 79 and 80 - Positive Reinforcement
8 Do not hold the crimes of our ancestors against us.
Reach out to us soon with your compassion,
because we are helpless.
9 Help us, O God, our savior, for the glory of your name.
Rescue us, and forgive our sins for the honor of your name.
Psalms 79:8-9 (GW)
19 O Lord God, commander of armies, restore us, and smile on us
so that we may be saved.
Psalms 80:19 (GW)
Reflection of B:
Sometimes, we feel so alone when problems overwhelm us or people are against us. Yet instead of turning away from God, we should come before Him and plead with Him like the psalmist did. We plead on God's glory and honour and ask Him to help us. The effect is similar to using positive reinforcement on a person's good character than to focus on the negative feelings.
Dear Lord,
Help me to remember this principle of always seeing Your great virtues which I know instead of on the situations I see. Help me to always be humble to look to You in solving problems and not do things in my own way. Guide me in my dealing with people at my work place.
In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
