Psalms 107-108 - Human Assistance Is Worthless

31 Let them give thanks to the Lord because of his mercy.
He performed his miracles for Adam's descendants.

32 Let them glorify him when the people are gathered for worship.
Let them praise him in the company of respected leaders.
Psalms 107:31-32 (GW)

12 Give us help against the enemy
because human assistance is worthless.

13 With God we will display great strength.
He will trample our enemies.
Psalms 108:12-13 (GW)

Reflection of B:

The above Psalms remind us of the miracles God had done for the Israelites and that only through Him can we fight against our enemies (both human and spiritual).

Sometimes Satan may try to defeat us using human disguises, causing us to feel weak, helpless, depressed or discouraged. We have to remember to come to God for strength and help in such battles, for greater is He that is in us than He that is in the world.

Dear Lord,
Thank You for this reminder. I pray that I will be always alert towards the physical and spiritual battles and turning to You for help at all times. For You are my Redeemer and Victor. Let me not rely on human assistance that has always been found to be worthless when I needed help most.
In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
